The
Paediatric department of SVMC of Medical Sciences is a baby &
Child friendly place catering to all children from birth to adolescence
(0-16 Years). The Paediatric department has both outpatient and
inpatient services. We currently have daily outpatient facilities
covered by two units.
We run a Well Baby Clinic on Thursdays.
Clinics for Asthma, Tuberculosis, Seizures and Adolescent Care and
Play Way method are on the anvil. We offer regular health checkup
for school children every day. For children with special needs like
handicapped children, children from orphanages and those hailing
very low Social-Economic group we offer free services.
Psychological assessment and developmental
assessment are carried out by the Child Psychologist. Health education
for parents of patients and school children are done by the Social
Worker.

Teaching
& Training
We have been approved by the National Board for training two Postgraduates
per year. On the academic front we are teaching both undergraduates
and D.N.B. post graduates. Perinatal meeting & Seminars are
held once a month with obstetric collogues. We also take part in
the integrated teaching programme for undergraduates.
